A few months back, Jacob took a couple of guitars, a big heap of other gear (see the list below) and two cameras up onto the roof of a local theatre, and shot his own extraordinarily creative version of “Subdivisions”, a classic complex tune from Canadian superstars Rush. There aren’t very many musicians with the guts to take on a challenge like that, and even fewer with the talent to pull it off. But pull it off he did. The YouTube video post promptly generated over 60,000 hits, and a response from Geddy Lee himself (the lead singer / songwriter from Rush) letting Jacob know that the band liked what he had done with the tune. You just never know what kind of creative acts might percolate up out of those Signpost artists…
Gear list: Larivee Acoustic, Godin Montreal acoustic/electric, Gracie Guitar Stand, Porchboard Bass (kick drum sound), RCA Dictaphone, Lexicon JamMan looper, Fender Vibrolux Amp, Danelectro Daddy-O Distortion Pedal, Electro-Harmonix Memory Man Delay, Shure Beta 58 Mic, Pendulum PreAmp, G7 Capo, ZOOM H4 handeld digital recorder, Lexicon LXP-1 Reverb (modified).
