Carolyn Arends Pollyanna’s Attic is classic Carolyn with a twist. Classic in that it is full of those playful melodies and clever turns of phrase we’ve come to adore in her work. But with this collection she digs a llittle deeper into her own ambiguities, dissapointments, and night terrors than we’ve seen to date. She also writes rather stingingly of the North American culture of entitlement, posturing and empty securities and comforts.
